The Infinix Smart 8 Pro is a good-looking, light budget phone for simple daily use. At Rs. 27,999 it offers a 6.6-inch 90Hz screen with quick touch response, a 50 MP main camera that gives decent photos even in low light, and a 5000 mAh battery that comfortably lasts a full day. A dedicated microSD slot, dual SIM and a headphone jack add practical value. The limits: the Helio G36 is weak for gaming, the software is the lighter Android 13 Go edition, and charging is a slow 10W.
Screen brightness is on the low side, so direct sunlight is a struggle. Heavy games such as PUBG lag, charging is slow, and the single bottom speaker is only average.
The Infinix Smart 9 costs less at Rs. 26,999 and is newer. Its Helio G81 has faster performance cores than the G36, its 6.7-inch screen runs at 120Hz, and it adds stereo speakers and Android 14 Go. The Smart 8 Pro keeps one edge: a 50 MP main camera against 13 MP. With identical batteries and charging, the Smart 9 is the better value for most buyers.

At Rs. 27,999, the Infinix Smart 8 Pro is a reasonable buy for simple daily use, but no longer the best value in its range.
The newer Infinix Smart 9 costs less at Rs. 26,999 and brings a faster chip, a 120Hz screen and stereo speakers, though with a 13 MP camera.
Verdict: fine for calls, social media and photos, but most buyers will get more from the Smart 9.
The Smart 8 Pro has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD with 720 x 1612 resolution (about 267 ppi), a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 500 nits peak brightness. The selfie camera sits in a punch-hole.
The phone uses the MediaTek Helio G36, an octa-core chip with four 2.2 GHz and four 1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 cores and PowerVR GE8320 graphics. Memory versions are 4GB/64GB, 8GB/128GB and 4GB/256GB, and a dedicated microSD slot adds more storage.
The G36 is a basic chip, so this phone suits light users rather than gamers or heavy multitaskers.
The rear setup combines a 50 MP main camera (f/1.9, autofocus) with an auxiliary lens and a ring-style LED flash. The selfie camera is 8 MP (f/2.0).
The Smart 8 Pro has a 5000 mAh battery that comfortably lasts a full day of normal use.
No reliable screen-on time or charge-time measurements were found, so treat "a full day" as typical use rather than a tested figure.
The phone runs Android 13 Go edition with Infinix's XOS 13 interface.
Buyers who want full Android should look higher up the range.
It runs Android 13 Go edition with Infinix's XOS 13 interface. Go edition is a lighter version of Android made for modest hardware such as the Helio G36, so it is not the full version found on more expensive phones.
It is good for light, everyday use. It looks attractive, has a smooth 90Hz screen, a decent 50 MP camera and a battery that lasts a day. Its weak points are the basic Helio G36 chip, slow 10W charging and low outdoor brightness. The cheaper Infinix Smart 9 is better value for most buyers.
