The SEGO 050 combines a 120Hz curved AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Its 5,000mAh battery and 33W fast charging make it suitable for everyday use, while the rear notification light adds a distinctive touch. The phone also offers a relatively clean Android experience, a 64MP main camera, a 32MP selfie camera, and useful in-box accessories, including a charger, case, screen protector, and Type-C hands-free. However, its hardware strengths are balanced by software polish and brand-support concerns.
Who it's for
- Display-focused users who want an AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, always-on display, and in-screen fingerprint unlocking.
- Everyday multitaskers who can benefit from the Helio G99 chipset, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage for apps, media, and routine tasks.
- Buyers who like distinctive design and included accessories, particularly the rear notification light, curved display, and 33W Type-C charging.
Where it falls short
The camera software is a major weakness. Daylight photos can capture good detail, and portrait edge separation is promising, but night photography and low-light image quality deteriorate noticeably. Video recording lacks OIS and EIS, while curved-screen touch rejection can cause accidental inputs. The in-display fingerprint scanner is reasonably accurate but not particularly fast. The single speaker also feels underwhelming for this price segment, and the software interface needs refinement. There is no memory card slot, and the new brand's long-term software support and after-sales reliability remain uncertain.
Worth comparing
The HONOR X6c is worth considering if established-brand familiarity matters more than display quality. It offers a 120Hz LCD, Helio G81 Ultra chipset, 5,300mAh battery, 35W charging, and a 50MP main camera. The SEGO 050 provides a more premium AMOLED display, a stronger Helio G99 chipset, more internal storage, and a higher-resolution selfie camera. However, HONOR offers a larger battery and avoids some of the uncertainty associated with a newly established brand. Choose the SEGO 050 for its hardware and display advantages, but consider the HONOR X6c if long-term ownership confidence is a priority.
