The Tecno Camon 50 Ultra targets buyers who want versatile cameras, strong everyday performance, and a premium display. Its 50MP main camera with OIS and 50MP 3x telephoto camera with OIS give it useful flexibility for portraits, distant subjects, and stabilized video. The phone supports up to 100x zoom, although extreme digital zoom should not be expected to retain the detail of optical zoom. An 8MP ultrawide camera adds landscape coverage, while the 50MP selfie camera supports 4K video recording. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate, it handles everyday tasks and gaming smoothly, with 5G connectivity for compatible networks. The curved AMOLED display offers 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and high brightness for outdoor use and multimedia. A 6,500mAh battery supports long sessions, while the included 45W charger provides wired fast charging. IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, eSIM support, stereo speakers, an IR blaster, and HiOS 16 add practical features. Tecno also promises three Android upgrades and five years of security updates.
The main compromise is 45W charging, which is relatively modest for a phone with a large battery. The ultrawide camera is limited to 1080p video, and the main camera can produce slightly saturated colours or haziness in some conditions. The claimed 100x zoom is useful for reaching distant subjects, but it should not be treated as equivalent to optical zoom. The first-impressions evidence also does not establish long-term performance or battery health.
The Vivo V70 FE offers a 200MP stabilized main camera, a larger 7,000mAh battery, and 90W charging, making it worth considering if detailed photography and battery endurance matter more than telephoto flexibility. The OPPO Reno 16F also provides a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, a 7,000mAh battery, and 80W charging, but it has a lower-resolution, 120Hz display. The Tecno stands out for its 144Hz display, 50MP 3x telephoto camera, 5G performance, and rugged water-resistance ratings. Compare local prices and warranty coverage before deciding.

The Tecno Camon 50 Ultra costs Rs. 119,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB version sold in Pakistan. It is a camera-first phone, and at this price its 3x telephoto camera is still rare.
Compared with the Vivo V70 FE (Rs. 121,999), you give up a bigger 7000 mAh battery and 90W charging but gain a real zoom camera and higher water protection. The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion (Rs. 134,999) costs more and charges at 68W, but has no telephoto camera.
Verdict: a good buy if photos, zoom and selfies matter most and you want a premium-feeling, water-resistant phone. If you mainly game or hate waiting for your phone to charge, look at the alternatives.
The Camon 50 Ultra has a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED screen at 1208 x 2644 pixels (a sharp 1.5K panel) with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz.
In everyday use, colours are punchy and deep, and HDR videos in YouTube look bright and rich, slightly better than on the Infinix Note 60 Pro. Outdoor visibility is good, though GSMArena's measured brightness is well below Tecno's advertised peak figure.
Things to know:
The MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate (4 nm) is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and faster UFS 3.1 storage. Apps load quickly, multitasking is smooth, and daily use feels close to a much more expensive phone.
Gaming: PUBG Mobile runs at 90 fps on Smooth graphics and at the Ultra frame rate on higher settings. In side-by-side play, it held 90 fps more steadily than the Infinix Note 60 Pro and stayed cooler. It handles games well, but it is not a dedicated gaming phone.
Heat and limits: the chip runs cool and holds about 93% of its performance in a CPU throttling test. One weak spot is heavy rendering, such as 4K video tasks, where it can stutter slightly. Rivals with Snapdragon chips post higher benchmark scores, but in normal use the difference is small.
The cameras are the main reason to buy the Camon 50 Ultra: a 50 MP main camera (Sony sensor) with OIS, a 50 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, an 8 MP ultrawide, and a 50 MP selfie camera.
On video, opinions differ. The front and rear cameras both record 4K, the rear with OIS plus EIS, and the selfie camera handles backlit faces well. However, focus sometimes hunts, detail can look soft, and video started at 1x does not switch to the telephoto, so start recording at 3x if you want zoom quality.
The Pakistani Camon 50 Ultra has a 6500 mAh battery (some other markets get a smaller 6160 mAh version), which comfortably covers a full day for most users.
In side-by-side use, it drained a little faster than the Infinix Note 60 Pro, which has the same capacity, so the Dimensity 7400 Ultimate is not the most frugal chip.
Charging is the weak point at this price:
If charging speed matters, the Vivo V70 FE (90W) and the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion (68W) both refill much faster.
The Camon 50 Ultra runs HiOS 16 on Android 16. Tecno promises 3 major Android upgrades, which is fair at this price but shorter than Samsung's policy.
Useful features:
Downside: a lot of bloatware comes preinstalled, including extra app stores and games. It can all be uninstalled, but it should not be on a phone at this price.
The Tecno Camon 50 Ultra costs Rs. 119,999 in Pakistan for the 12GB RAM + 256GB version. It is an official launch with PTA approval and a 12+1 month Tecno warranty.
Buy the Camon 50 Ultra for photography, and the Vivo V70 FE for battery. The Camon has a 3x telephoto, a 50 MP selfie camera, a 144Hz screen and IP69K protection. The V70 FE (Rs. 121,999) has a 7000 mAh battery, 90W charging and a 200 MP main camera, but no telephoto.
Only if fast charging is your priority. The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion costs more, at Rs. 134,999, and charges at 68W against the Camon's 45W. The Camon 50 Ultra is cheaper and adds a 3x telephoto camera and a 50 MP selfie camera, so it is the better pick for photos.
Yes. The Camon 50 Ultra sold in Pakistan has NFC, so you can use tap-to-pay through Google Wallet where your bank card supports it. It also has an IR blaster for TVs and ACs, and eSIM support.
The frame is plastic, while the front and back are glass with Gorilla Glass 7i protection. That keeps the weight down to 178 g, and the phone still feels premium. It is also rated IP68 and IP69K against dust and water.
Both, depending on the camera. The rear cameras record 4K at 30fps, with OIS and EIS on the main camera. The 50 MP selfie camera records 4K at up to 60fps, which is unusual at this price.
