The Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max is built around one standout strength: battery life. In an intensive drain test covering social media, gaming and camera use, it lasted just under 10 hours and still had more than half its charge after five, finishing well ahead of every other iPhone 13 model. Its 6.7-inch 120Hz display adds smoothness with little to no battery penalty, so you get both a fluid screen and endurance.
Size and weight are the main trade-offs: at 240 grams, the large body will not suit small hands or one-handed use. Only a USB-C to Lightning cable comes in the box, so you need to buy a charger separately. Darker colours also make the screen borders look thicker than they are.
The iPhone 15 costs a little more at Rs. 327,499 and adds USB-C, a 48 MP main camera and the Dynamic Island, but its 60Hz screen and lack of a telephoto camera keep the 13 Pro Max ahead for smoothness and zoom. The iPhone 14 Pro (Rs. 520,999) adds an always-on display in a smaller body, but costs far more.

At Rs. 318,699, the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max makes sense mainly for buyers who put battery life first. It was one of the longest-lasting phones of its generation, and it pairs that with a 120Hz display, a 3x telephoto camera and a fast A15 Bionic.
Weigh these points:
Verdict: a strong choice if you want the longest battery life and a smooth, large screen on an iPhone, and you can find a unit in good condition. If you prefer USB-C and newer software features over 120Hz and zoom, the iPhone 15 is the alternative to consider.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display at 1284 x 2778 pixels (about 458 ppi), with HDR10 and Dolby Vision. It is large, sharp and colour-accurate, which makes it excellent for videos, reading and games.
Limitation: some games and apps do not use the full 120Hz, and the notch at the top remains.
The Apple A15 Bionic (5 nm) with a 5-core GPU and 6GB RAM gives the iPhone 13 Pro Max top-class performance for its generation.
Sustained performance: in long stress tests, the CPU held about 77% and the GPU drop to about 67% of peak performance as the phone heated up. Expect some slowdown and warmth during long, heavy gaming sessions.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max has three 12 MP rear cameras, main (f/1.5, sensor-shift OIS), 3x telephoto (OIS) and ultrawide (f/1.8, 120 degrees), plus LiDAR.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 4352 mAh battery, and battery life is its best feature.
Charging: it reaches about 50% in 30 minutes with a fast USB-C charger, and supports 15W MagSafe wireless charging. No charger comes in the box, and because the battery is large, a full charge takes a while.
On used units, battery health makes a big difference, so check it before buying.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max launched with iOS 15 and can be updated to iOS 26, which officially supports the iPhone 13 series.
Update support: Apple does not publish a fixed number of years of updates. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is on the iOS 26 list, but future major updates are an estimate, not a promise.
Use a fast USB-C Power Delivery adapter, which takes it to about 50% in 30 minutes; a higher-wattage USB-C adapter also works safely. An old low-power charger is safe but very slow for a battery this large, and iOS Optimized Battery Charging already protects battery health.
Yes. Most models use one nano-SIM plus an eSIM, and it can also run two eSIMs. Models sold in China and Hong Kong take two physical nano-SIMs. Check the exact model and that your operator supports eSIM before buying.
Not quite. Most independent tests found the iPhone 14 Pro Max lasting somewhat longer, though results varied and some tests showed the 13 Pro Max ahead under heavy load. Both are among the longest-lasting iPhones, so the difference is small in daily use.
It is worth it if battery life is your top priority. W4Mobiles lists it at Rs. 318,699, and it offers excellent endurance, a 120Hz screen and a 3x telephoto. The iPhone 15 costs slightly more and adds USB-C but keeps a standard refresh rate screen. Check battery health on used units.
Yes. Live Text, available since iOS 15, lets you select, copy and act on text in photos, screenshots and the live camera view. It works in the Photos and Camera apps and many other places across iOS.
